Powers: Psychically linked to the weather patterns of Earth, allowing her to command meteorological energy patterns to raise or lower temperature levels, direct air currents as hurricane-force winds, a pressure dome that can deflect attacks, or to maneuver herself through the sky, excite electron particles to call down lightning bolts, scramble incoming psionic assaults, or fire electrical blasts from her fingertips, and summon clouds as fog cover or in order to bring forth precipitation such as rain, snow, sleet, and hail, alter her body temperature to compensate for weather conditions, and can manipulate her own perceptions to see electrical energy and the factors behind weather phenomena

Biography

Born and raised in Africa, Storm learned early of her abilities to control the elements of weather. She can also fly. Storm is second in command to Cyclops and leads the team when he is absent or incapacitated. She behaves almost like a goddess -- regal, dignified, and elegant. Her only vulnerability is her claustrophobia, a result of a childhood trauma.

Ororo's parents died when she was a young child in Egypt. She became a beggar and eventually a thief in the streets in Cairo under the cities crimelord, the Shadow King. When Xavier was traveling through Egypt, she pickpocketed him and when he found out that she was a mutant, he invited her to join the Xavier Institute. (Xaiver Remembers -Flashback-)

In the X-Men, Ororo was the second in command to Cyclops. Her nurturing nature made her a mother figure to Jubilee and her control was a balance to the rage of Wolverine and Gambit.

Her team mate Cyclops was kidnapped by the Morlock Calisto and Storm took command of the team. In the confilict with the underground mutant group, Storm dueled with Calisto for the fate of Cyclops and won. Her victory also made her ruler of the Morlocks, a title she soon reliquished. Ororo was lured back to Africa when the Shadow King possesed a boy whom she had help raise. Once she arrived, the Shadow Kind possesed her for her seemingly limitless power, but was eventually driven out. (Whatever it Takes)

Akron, an alien king, came to Earth begging for Storm's help to tame his world's raging eco-system. Ororo agrees and performs the task. While on the alien planet, Akron falls in love with her and they plan to wed. The marriage is called off, however, when Ororo discovers that Akron is a cruel tyrant who imports slaves from a neigboring planet. (Storm Front Part I & II)
